Below are steps for cleaning that can help maintain the cleanliness and longevity of your decorative pillowcase. Please note that while most of our fabrics are machine washable, it's important to follow the cleaning instructions provided with your shipment to ensure proper care.
Pre-treat Stains: If the pillowcase has stains or spots, pre-treat them before washing. Use a gentle stain remover or spot cleaner and follow the product's instructions for application. Allow the pre-treatment to sit for a few minutes before washing.
Use a Gentle Detergent: Choose a mild detergent that is suitable for delicate fabrics. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, as they may damage the fabric or cause fading.
Select the Proper Water Temperature: Check the care label to determine the appropriate water temperature for washing the pillowcase. In general, it's best to use cold or lukewarm water to prevent shrinking or fading of the fabric.
Turn the Pillowcase Inside Out: Before placing the pillowcase in the washing machine, turn it inside out to protect the printed or embellished side from damage during the wash cycle.
Wash with Similar Items: Wash the pillowcase with similar items to prevent tangling and ensure even washing. Avoid overloading the washing machine, as this can prevent the pillowcase from getting thoroughly cleaned.
Use a Gentle Cycle: Set your washing machine to a gentle or delicate cycle to minimize agitation and protect the fabric. If your washing machine has an option for a hand wash cycle, that may be even gentler on delicate fabrics.
Air Dry: After washing, remove the pillowcase from the washing machine and reshape it if necessary. Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric, as this can cause stretching or damage. Hang the pillowcase to air dry.
Iron if Necessary: If the pillowcase is wrinkled after drying, you can iron it on a low heat setting. Use a pressing cloth or iron on the reverse side to protect any printed or embellished areas.
